LAKESIDE ENCOUNTERS

Lurk Burley Griffin is a collective poetry and art intervention, by Zoe Anderson, Caren Florance, Jacqui Malins and Melinda Smith.

Lurk Burley Griffin engages with the lake at the centre of Canberra and its surrounds as a site of mystery, fecundity, threat and transformation.

A trail of short video works by Anderson, Florance, Malins and Smith feature poetry, visuals and soundscapes exploring what waits beneath the surface and lingers at the edge, both literally and metaphorically. Come and loiter. Dip your toes in or immerse yourself - it is up to you.

These site-specific works were produced for Contour 556 2020, Canberra's Public Art Biennial, with support from the ACT Government under the City Renewal Authority’s City Grants Program.
